Into 2020

I thought I’d take a few hours to update the site as we go into the New Year. There’s been very little news worth reporting since the last entry: the life of the average writer really isn’t that remarkable for long stretches of time. The excitement of the Netflix episodes came and went, but it was fun while it lasted. I’m pleased to say that the buzz from the series helped spark some interest in additional translation rights from a few corners, including Turkey and China.

Other than a couple of private trips to Spain and France, I spent the rest of the year at home writing. I finished BONE SILENCE in the early summer, then immediately dived into a new novel, followed thereafter by the usual to-ing and fro-ing between the two books, each at very different stages in their lives. I wrote precisely one short story in 2019, although there are a few more in the pipeline. Not the most productive year of my creative career, then, but not the worst either. Let’s see what 2020 holds.
